Arnold watch made from recycled whiskey barrel wood

The Arnold watch, by Mathieu Blanchard, is freely designed and inspired by the most prodigious master watchmakers the field has ever known. This model is thus named in tribute to John Arnold and Thomas Earnshaw: two English watchmakers who, by developing the manufacture of the marine chronometer on a significant scale in the 18th century, helped to popularize its use. Until then, most of the constituent elements of these instruments had to come from the hands of the makers themselves, and their production remained tightly limited.

The durability of a product depends mainly on its materials. For Mathieu Blanchard Signature watches, we use materials that are durable over time.

For the glass, we use sapphire crystal: This is the glass most frequently used on today's high-end watches. Sapphire crystal is 10 times harder than mineral glass and 4 times harder than acrylic glass. It is virtually impossible to scratch except by diamond, which is even harder. This glass is lab-created.

For watch cases and bracelets, we have put enormous effort into producing using sustainable materials like natural wood, sourced from sustainable origins, and matte-finish stainless steel. This finish allows for visual durability, as signs of wear appear much less than on polished finishes.

We love nature; it is often a source of calm, comfort, and very often the starting point for our collections of jewelry &  accessories. We are proud to offer watches designed from fine, durable materials. Our primary material is wood, which offers a significant environmental advantage compared to other comparable materials: low carbon emissions during the production process and the biodegradable nature of the materials.

Our watches are handmade with great precision by a highly experienced team. Each watch is naturally unique and made with genuine wood such as walnut and oak (from whiskey barrels).
