The Copernic watch, by Mathieu Blanchard, is freely inspired by the work of Nicolaus Copernicus. Galileo was also inspired by it to breathe new life into timekeeping by developing the first work on the pendulum clock.

Automatic movements are an original and traditional feature. This technology takes advantage of gravity and converts the movements of your arms into energy. To ensure the automatic watch does not remain still when inactive, it also features a power reserve that allows it to continue running for 35 to 60 hours, depending on the movement.
EACH WATCH IS UNIQUE
The grain of the wood, like a handprint, is unique, which makes each watch entirely different. Each watch is crafted with great care, so that it is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Take it to another level and make the experience even more special with a personalized engraving, etched on the back of the watch.
The durability of a product depends mainly on its materials. For Mathieu Blanchard Signature watches, we use materials that are durable over time.
For the glass, we use sapphire crystal: This is the glass most frequently used on today's high-end watches. Sapphire crystal is 10 times harder than mineral glass and 4 times harder than acrylic glass. It is virtually impossible to scratch except by a diamond, which is even harder. This glass is lab-created.
For the watch cases and straps, we have put enormous effort into producing using sustainable materials such as natural wood, sourced from sustainable sources, and matte-finish stainless steel. This finish allows for visual durability, as signs of wear and tear are much less visible than on a polished finish.
Since we love nature, it is often a source of calm and comfort for us, and very often the starting point for our jewelry & accessory collections. We are proud to offer watches designed from noble and sustainable materials. Our main material is wood, which presents a significant environmental advantage compared to other comparable materials: low carbon emissions during the production process and the biodegradable nature of the materials.
Our watches are handcrafted with great precision by an experienced team. Each watch is naturally unique and made with real wood such as walnut and oak (sourced from whiskey barrels).
